Football-Brentford-vs-Gillingham

Back to grassroots Football at Griffin Park. last where Brentford beat Gillingham 2-1.

While the Bees was the more poised team Gillingham might well have shared the spoils through a couple of counter attacks. Brentford keeper Richard Lee, was inspired to come off his goal line to fend off Gillingham’s counterattacks.

It had been a while since I had watched a third tier game. I do not know how representative this game was, but the pace is relentless. It seems as though the entire game plan rests upon pressuring the opposition and force them into making an error.

Whatever the case may be, the atmosphere is far more genuine than at the shopping malls that the Emirates and Stamford Bridge have become.
